A circa 1905 18 carat gold, diamond ruby King Charles Cavalier brooch by Charles-Eugène Thiénot A fabulous 18 carat gold, diamond ruby brooch of a head study of a King Charles Cavalier by Charles-Eugène Thiénot.The dog has cabochon cut ruby eyes and wears a diamond collar and bow mille grain and platinum set with 14 old cut diamonds. The reverse is inscribed “C Thiénot 3”. The clasp is further stamped and assayed. French, circa 1905.
Charles-Eugène, and highly respected French jeweller, sculptor and Art Noveau artist who exhibited at the prestigious Paris Salon, circa 1900. Such pieces included canine and cat subjects. French, circa 1905

An Erbach "Black Forest" ivory carved Italian Greyhound / Whippet brooch tie / stick pin A "Black Forest" ivory carved standing Greyhound stick pin. Such carvings were from German workshop of the Graf von Erbach-Erbach in Odenwald, and the Kehrer family at Erbach, Ernst (working 1830-40) and his son Edouard (1812-63). They were made from around 1830 to 1860. Examples can be seen in the jewellery collection of the British Museum, London, for example there is a brooch with the same dog seated with stag and deer. German, circa 1850.

A ivory carved Labrador type dog, Erbach 18 carat gold brooch An ivory carved "Black Forest" depicting three Labrador type dogs, 18 carat gold set brooch. Assayed “OR 750” and marked “LB”.
Such carvings were from German workshop of the Graf von Erbach-Erbach in Odenwald, and the Kehrer family at Erbach, Ernst (working 1830-40) and his son Edouard (1812-63). They were made from around 1830 to 1860.

From a series of breeds by the Birmingham maker that included, Setter, Sealyham, Scottish Terrier, Wire-haired Fox Terrier, and Airedale. Each clearly modelled from a show Champion of the 1920s.
