A bronze of the English Setter “Francoeur de Meilissa”, at work, by Richard Fath (French, 1900-1952). Signed “FATH” and stamped “BRONZE”. Fath produced the model in terracotta together with smaller bronze variants. A ‘master bronze’ version is illustrated in “Portraits de Chiens Richard Fath 1900-1952 by Richard-Camille Fath, and “Jours de Chasse No 35” Spring of 2009. French, circa 1940.

A silver book mark with Setter’s head. Assayed Birmingham 1908, and with makers mark “C.P.B”, Charles Penny Brown. Brown was a London silver smallworker of fancy items, they also made a range of bookmarks with different breeds of dog's heads. They exhibited at the ‘British Industries Fair of 1915’. English, 1908.

An early 20th century terracotta model imitating bronze of a Setter at work by Capaldo. Signed on the base “Capaldo”, stamped with a seal, and bearing a plaque “Chien en Arret par Caplado”. Capaldo is known for his work with Céramiques de L'Isle Adam. French, circa 1920.

The captions reading "Adventurer, bold", "Ssh! We'll sneak up on him", "Easy men, we'll surround him". Signed bottom left "Zito". Zito was famous for his 1937 publication of cartoons 'Dogs', published by Chesterfield Publication of New York.

A pair of Setter bronze bookends after Pierre Jules Mene (French, 1810 - 1879). The squatting dogs are those from the artist's 'Chienne de Meute avec ses Petits', which was exhibited at the Salon de Paris in 1859. See "Pierre - Jules Mene Catalogue raisonne by Michel Poletti & Alain Richarme. The squatting dogs appear again in the Susse Freres "P. J. Mene and Auguste Cain" catalogue of 1902-1912, in the 'Chienne de Meute avec ses Petits' group and another "Groupe chien au repos". Unsigned, French, circa 1900.

It was published 1875 after Edwin Landseer�s drawing of 1849. Lettered top � "Entered according to act of Congress in the year 1875 by M.Knoedler & Co. in the office of the Librarian at Washington.", sealed bottom left �Printsellers Association BTS� and signed in pencil bottom left �T Landseer� There is an example in the British Museum Collection and one in the Royal Collection
