The Pekingese breed was a favourite of the artist's who painted dogs from some of the days important kennels, including those of Misses Kent and Langdon's, Her High Princess Touussoun?s Ch. Puck of Alderbourne, those of Lady Decies at the Sefton Park Kennels, and a model of the Pekin Palace with three of Miss de Pledge?s Pekingese.
