Mid to late 19th century 'Berlin' needlework / needlepoint / tapestry of a tricolor King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. This cross stitch Berlin needlepoint was inspired by the depiction of Dash, Queen Victoria's beloved King Charles Cavalier Spaniel from Sir Edwin Landseer's 1837-1838 famous painting "His majesty's favourite dogs and parrot", also known as "Hector, Nero and Dash with with the parrot, Lory", which can today be can be seen in the Royal Collection. |
