The kennel design being patented, and the bottom right of the frame bears the registration mark "Rd.329067"
The design was registered by the silversmiths James Samuel Bell & Louis Willmott of Bell & Willmott, suppliers to Bond Street retailers, and whose frames are in the The Royal Collection of the Queen.
The reverse bearing the retailers name "Dobsons & Sons 32 Piccadilly. W.", and twice assayed London, and dated, 1918.
The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Dobsons & Sons specialised in sporting jewellery and took commissions and were famed for their reputation "likeness guaranteed". |
