"Fascination" a watercolour of two Sealyham Terriers peering spellbound at the goldfish swimming in a formal lily pond, by Miss Florence Jay (English, Fl 1900-1928).


The work being the original artwork for the post card titled "Fascination" published for the famous Medici Dogs at Play series.

Believed to have been first drawn for "Sharps" the confectioners. English, circa 1920

To the reverse a label bearing: This picture is the property of my daughter Karen Elizabeth Hayes (nee Davidson).

It was given to her by the artist, the Late Miss Florence Jay whe my daughter Was a schoolgirl. Note: It is understood that ?Sharps?, the toffee manufacturer held the "copyright".

Signed bottom left "Florence Jay".

Provenances: Mrs Karen Elizabeth Haynes (nee Davidson), a gift by the artist.
