Oil on canvas of a Pomeranian by Ethel Lavinia Tanner(b.18810) SOLD Oil on canvas of a white standing Pomeranian dressed with silk blue bow on oriental carpet before velvet curtains by Ethel Lavinia Tanner(b.1881). The blue bow suggests that this Pomeranian was a pet. Interesting in Miss Ives book “Show Pomeranians” (1911) she writes “Don’t take a dog in the ring with a ribbon bow on, or a bow of any kind, or a mark of identification of any description. The bow stamps the exhibitor as a tyro”. Signed and dated "E L TANNER 1919". English, 1919 |
