A gold and guilloch enamel Pointer brooch

A rare rectangular gold and guilloch brooch of two Pointers in the field. The enamel mounted in an Etruscan revival gold frame of delicate gold wire turned in swirling rosettes in the manner of such Jewellers as Castellani, Edwin Streeter and Fontenay. English, Circa 1870. Possibly inspired by Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (English 1802 - 1873), 1820 painting, "Pointers, To Ho! To Ho!". English, Circa 1870.
