A Watercolour with white heightening on board of a seated black and white Scottish Terrier by Christopher Gifford Ambler (English, 1886-1965). Signed bottom right “C Ambler” English,circa 1920’s. To the reverse the artist has written possible titles in ink “Patience” or “Ye’ll no be much longer?”, or “Not guilty, Miss us” and in pencil Isn’t Love Wonderful” suggesting the work was published. A “Marble Hill Gallery 72 Richmond Road Twickenham Middx” label to the reverse reads “C Ambler. The Two Friends, pencil and coloured mashes, heightened with white. Lived in Buckhurst Hill Esses , Exhibited two works at the Royal Academy between 1912-1914.” With stock number “P926ms”.
