Thor was born on the 29th March 1901, sired by Lord Topper and dammed by Lady Lulu.
Thor was owned by G Loder, and breed by the famous Great Dane kennels of Mrs H L Horsfall at Mornington Mannor, Norfolk. She was a prominent breeder who "sent forth many redoubtable champions". As "Cassells New Book of the Dog" states, There are, indeed, very few superlative Great Danes nowadays who do not owe some relationship to the renowned Redgrave strain.
In fact one of Thor's great sires was Ch. Viola of Redgrave.
Thor weighed 155 lbs and measured 33 inches.
He was described as of "great size, magnificent bone and structure".
