A dry-point etching "Up for Inspection" of Scottish Terriers, mother and puppy by Marguerite Kirmse (English, 1885 -1954). Published April 1929. American. In pencil, titled bottom left "Up for Inspection" and signed bottom right "Marguerite Kirmse". The image, further appeared in "Dogs" by the artist, with an introduction by R. T Townsend published in 1930, by the Derrydale Press. Here Kirmse writes "This sketch for the dry point was made just outside the puppy house of my kennels. The combination of being so high of the ground and of being inspected by a much older dog was almost too much for this little fellow."
