Scottish Terrier dry-point etching "The Pool" by Marguerite Kirmse

A dry-point etching, "The Pool" of three Scottish Terriers gazing into a lily pond by Marguerite Kirmse (English, 1885 -1954). Published April, 1925. In pencil, titled "The Pool" and signed bottom right Marguerite Kirmse. The reverse bears gallery label for Arthur Ackermann & Son, Bond Street, London. American 1925.


The image further appeared in Dogs by the artist, with an introduction by R. T Townsend published in 1930, by the Derrydale Press, illustration 39. Here Kirmse writes "I think this is my favourite of all the dry points I have done and I believe the etching of it gave me most pleasure".
