An oil on canvas of a seated Rough Collie in highland heather moor by Maud Earl. Signed bottom left “Maud Earl”. English, circa 1890. Maud Earl received many famous commissions from Collie fanciers and breeders including those from the Woodmansterne Kennels of the Rev. Hans Hamilton, Princess de Montglyon’s Collies and “Snowball” for Queen Victoria, around 1895.
