A watercolour and pastel of a Pekingese standing on the arm of a sofa by Xavier de Poret (French, 1894 - 1975). Signed bottom right “Xavier de Poret”, and dated “1951”. French, 1951. No doubt the same Pekingese as found in the later Hermes commissioned silk “Pekinois” 1965 scarf range that came in two colour variants.
