Circa 1870 gold set micromosaic of a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel

Micromosaic in black vitreous paste of a recumbent King Charles Cavalier ‘Blenheim’ Spaniel, set in gold scrolling frame. Assayed on the frame. The King Charles Cavalier Spaniel was a popular micromosaic subject following the works by such artists as Antonio Aguatti (d1846) and Luigi Cavaliere Moglia (1813ca - 1878). Italian / French circa 1870.
