Newmarket Starlight sold to America.
Also to the reverse gallery/framers label "J.Ward & Sons High Street, Newmarket" The Newmarket prefix was that of Major J Hollingshead Wright OBE, MRCVS, who at the time this Fox Terrier was painted was living at The Croft, Exning Road, Newmarket. For 1927 he was the President of the Wire Fox Terrier Association. He was one of the notable breeders of the interwar period, and in 1927 Roger Phillips wrote a short biography on Major Wright for the Wire Fox Terrier Association. See below.
