A 19th century oval footstool of a cross stitch Berlin needlepoint of a King Charles Cavalier inspired by the depiction of Dash, Queen Victoria's beloved King Charles Cavalier Spaniel from Sir Edwin Landseer's 1837-1838 famous painting "His majesty's favourite dogs and parrot", also known as "Hector, Nero and Dash with the parrot, Lory", which can today be can be seen in the Royal Collection. Four fruitwood legs and walnut veneer. French, circa 1880.
