An Austrian ‘Vienna’ / ‘Wiener’ bronze Dachshund bell push / ringer, circa 1900

An Austrian ‘Vienna’ / ‘Wiener’ bronze bell push / ringer, in the form of two Dachshund puppies in a pouch. This was perhaps inspired after the Austrian animal painter Carl Reichert’s (1836-1918), baskets of puppies and kittens. Austrian circa 1900. These beautifully made bronze bell pushes were used by the wealthy and aristocratic Viennese households to call their staff.
