An Austrian ‘Vienna’ / ‘Wiener’ bronze Dachshund bell push / ringer, circa 1900 An Austrian ‘Vienna’ / ‘Wiener’ bronze bell push / ringer, in the form of two Dachshund puppies in a pouch. This was perhaps inspired after the Austrian animal painter Carl Reichert’s (1836-1918), baskets of puppies and kittens. Austrian circa 1900.
These beautifully made bronze bell pushes were used by the wealthy and aristocratic Viennese households to call their staff. Images are available for public use with an acknowledgement to www.hamsheregallery.com
