A circa 1905 18 carat gold, diamond ruby King Charles Cavalier brooch by Charles-Eugène Thiénot

A fabulous 18 carat gold, diamond ruby brooch of a head study of a King Charles Cavalier by Charles-Eugène Thiénot.The dog has cabochon cut ruby eyes and wears a diamond collar and bow mille grain and platinum set with 14 old cut diamonds. The reverse is inscribed “C Thiénot 3”. The clasp is further stamped and assayed. French, circa 1905. Charles-Eugène, and highly respected French jeweller, sculptor and Art Noveau artist who exhibited at the prestigious Paris Salon, circa 1900. Such pieces included canine and cat subjects.
