“The Pool”, a pen and ink drawing of three seated Scottish Terriers gazing into a lily pond by Marguerite Kirmse (English, 1885 -1954). This was published as a dry-point etching in April, 1925. American, 1925.
“The image further appeared in "Dogs" by the artist, with an introduction by R. T Townsend published in 1930, by the Derrydale Press, illustration 39. Here Kirmse writes "I think this is my favorite one of all the dry points I have done and I believe the etching of it gave me most pleasure".
