Griffon Bruxellois oil by Charles H D Boland (Belgium, c.1850-?) An oil on canvas of a pampered Griffon Bruxellois in a garden of blooms of roses and honeysuckle. The dog wears a luxurious pearl collar. Signed and dated bottom right “Ch. Boland 1895â€. Belgium 1895.
Could be the dogs of Frau J Mans, or Frau A Mans well known Brussels owners and fanciers of the breed at the end of the 19th century.
