(English, 1785 – 1851) A pair of oils depicting Royal Mail coaches in snowy landscapes by Henry Thomas Alken Snr. (English, 1785 – 1851). The fully-laden coaches wear the correct Royal Mail livery, black with red doors and lower panels, Post Office-red wheels, and The Royal Coat of Arms on the door with the name of the town at the end of the coach’s route. Provenance:
