A pencil with watercolour on paper of various studies of “Écureuils”, Red Squirrels by Xavier de Poret (French, 1894 - 1975). Signed “Xavier de Poret”, French. These are the studies for some of the same Squirrels as found in the later Hermes commissioned silk “Pekinois” 1967 scarf range that came in different colourways.

Provenance: From the studio of Xavier de Poret and by decent from the Poret family.
