Signed bottom right “C.E Brittanâ€. English, circa 1870 Charles Edward Brittan Senior (1837-1888) was a Cornish artist, who specialised in landscape, wildlife paintings and animal paintings. Little is known of his life. He was born in Truro, and would later move to Plymouth. He is often confused with his son of the same name, who painted moorland scenes and landscapes.
