Signed and dated “Richter 1873â€. Austrian 1873. Richter started his career as a pupil at the Vienna Academy under Thomas Ender and Leopold Kupelwieser. He developed into a successful painter of military scenes and frequently worked at the Kaiserlich und Königlich headquarters(1848 and 1859). During the 1870’s Richter often painted for the Imperial couple, Franz Josef, Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary and his wife Elisabeth, at Gödöllö, their summer palace. |
