The image inspired Pierre-Jules Mne, The Partridge Hunt / Chasse la perdrix. Stamped to the reverse JAS. MUIRHEAD & SONS GLASGOW. Muirhead were known to have a Paris agent to source and purchase the very best art coming to the market. In fact they some objects were marked Jas. Muirhead & Sons Paris. French, circa 1880.
The distinguish house of James Muirhead and Son, established circa 1816. Were high end goldsmiths and jewellers, Watchmaker to the Queen, and suppliers to the Admiralty.
