An oil on canvas of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier proudly standing beside a silver headed walking cane before a wall by Richard Hermann Strebel (German, 1861 - 1946). Signed and dated, in red, bottom right “Richard Strebel 86”. German 1886.


Richard Strebel was famous for documenting and illustrating the history and development of German dogs in “Die Deutschen Hunde” published in Munich 1905.
