An oil on panel of a head study of the Mrs Robinson’s Siamese Cat Champion “Bigabois” by Mrs Elizabeth Marion Nelson (English, ex.1890-1930). Titled bottom left “Bigabois” signed and dated bottom right “E M Nelson 1920”.


Mrs Mary Robinson, of 20 Barons Court Road, West Kensington was a fancier of the breed, a member of the National Cat Club Committee, and frequently acted as a judge of Siamese. She was famous for showing the first Siamese show champion “Wankee” in 1895.
