An oil on an artist panel of a study of a pair of carriage / coaching horses dressed in their tackle by Ernest Jean Delahaye (French, 1855-1921). Oval seal to revsee “TOILES & COULEURS …… E. SCH…. 17, Rue ….. PARIS. French, circa 1890.


Delahaye was a Parisian painter who exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1875 to 1920. Today his work can be seen in Clamecy; Museum of Art and History Romain Rolland, Paris; Carnavalet Museum, Petit Palais, and Versailles; Museum of the History of France.
