A enamel stick pin of a head study of the Irish Terrier “Fire-flyer” by James William Bailey (English, 1831 – 1914). Titled, signed and dated to the reverse “Fire-flyer J. W. Bailey 1895. English, 1895.


Interestingly in 1895 Ludwig Beckmann reported that already in 1847 in Ireland they had started to breed an independent terrier, the ancestor of the current Irish Terrier.
