The artist owned the breed and had a particular passion for the Sealyham, as documented in the book on the artist’s life and work “An Edwardian Rediscovered”.
This pastel was submitted to the Derby printers Bemrose and Sons Limited for illustration / publication in a book.
Signed in pencil to the reverse “Sealyham Terrier P Harland Fisher No’ 1241” together with Bemrose label “This Design is submitted in confidence Bemrose and Sons Ltd Retain all rights to it” then in ink “No 1241”.
