Scottish Terriers, "When Do we Eat?", by Morgan Dennis (American, 1892-1960)

Dry point etching on paper of two seated Scottish Terriers, by Morgan Dennis (American, 1892 - 1960). Signed in the margin in pencil "Morgan Dennis" and titled on the mount "When Do we Eat ?". The image was also used in a Texaco Motor Oil advertisement with the caption "Listen! To the improvement in your engine". The "Texaco Company bought the copyright and distributed complimentary copies of "Listen" through "The Texaco Exhibit, Central Pier, 1400 Broadwalk, Atlantic City". Sculptures titled "Listen" were also produced.


At one point the artist used this image for his stationary.
