Gold set carnelian (sardonyx) cameo brooch of a Setter A superb and gold set intaglio cameo carnelian (sardonyx) brooch of a recumbent Setter. Possibly modelled on "Tawney" the 6th Duke of Devonshire's Gordon Setter painted circa 1819 by Johann Wenzel Peter (Czechoslovakia 1745 - Rome 1829) when the Duke travelled to Italy.
Magnificent wide and deep floral designed gold mount and original pin. Italian cameo English, mount circa 1820.
