Oil on panel of a sleeping Dachshund by Miss Lucy Marguerite Frobisher (1915 - 1937). Titled "CREE", signed "Marguerite Frobisher" and dated "28-9-22" English, circa 1922. An exhibitor at the Royal Academy, Paris Salon, Lucy Marguerite Frobisher was a celebrated animal artist, and director of the Frobisher School of Painting, formerly the (Lucy) Kemp-Welch School of Animal Painting. She was predominantly featured by “The Studio Magazine’s” 1931 “Dog Studies”.
