Victorian needlepoint / needlework / textile of the Cavalier Spaniel 'Dash', Queen Victoria's favourite, and the parrot Lory.

This image of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel 'Dash' is inspired from the 1838 painting by Sir Edwin Landseer RA (1802-1873), titled "Hector, Nero and Dash with the parrot, Lory", commissioned by Queen Victoria which today can be seen in the Royal Collection. Lory in fact belonged to H.R.H The Duchess of Kent. English circa 1870
