A silver pendant hiding a retracting pencil of the West Highland Terrier “Scratch”. Detailed with green glass eyes. English, circa 1880


This West Highland Terrier was owned by Jacob Bell and appears in the 1839, his commission, known as "Dignity and Impudence" by Sir Edwin Landseer, (today in the collection of the Tate Gallery, London).
