Stamped to the reverse “ACADEMY BOARD FOR OIL PAINTING GEORGE ROWNEY & CO RATHBONE PLACE OXFORD ST LONDON” Together with remnants of an old label “Fine Art Department”. Further indecipherable pencil signature to the reverse and “3”. English, circa 1870.

Brown Westhead & Moore enamel plate of the ‘Fox Terrier’ “Bellonna”, T H Murchison Esq’s., a painting illustrated in George Earl's (1824-1908), 'Portraits of the Champion Dogs of England'. 'Champion Dogs of England' illustrated forty paintings by the artist. To the reverse a Victorian lozenge mark being design number 235691, registered by 'T C Brown-Westhead Moore & Co', the 'Cauldon Place, Staffordshire Potteries on the 3rd November 1869.
