The dogs seated on tasseled cushions in white paste porcelain each hold a pair of scones. These West Highland Terrier are of the type in Sir Edwin Landseer famous painting of Scratch in his 1839 painting "Dignity and Impudence". That West Highland Terrier was owned by Jacob Bell. English, circa 1850’s. This is a SOLD item and has been left in the Public Domain for research purposes.
