Micromosaic / Micro-Mosaic / Micro Mosaic plaque of a Pointer A rectangular micro-mosic set in black vitreous paste of a standing Pointer working near undergrowth where a rabbit can be seen within the flora.
Possibly from the works shops at 134 Via del Babuino, Rome of Luigi Cavaliere Moglia, (1813ca - 1878).

The enamel mounted in an Etruscan revival gold frame of delicate gold wire turned in swirling rosettes in the manner of such Jewellers as Castellani, Edwin Streeter and Fontenay. English, Circa 1870. Possibly inspired by Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (English 1802 - 1873), 1820 painting, "Pointers, To Ho! To Ho!". English, Circa 1870.

Titled "Tense Moments" and dedicated "To my friend Arthur Eggleston" in pencil to the margin bottom left, and signed bottom right "Ward Binks Pinx Sculp". English, circa 1930.
The Eggleston's, father JT and son Arthur breed some of the greatest pointers of the day. Many of today's dogs contain their bloodlines.
