Photogravure of “Queen Alexandra her Grandchildren and dogs†published 1905 by C.W.Faulkner, after the original painting by Frederick Morgan (English, 1856 -1927) and Thomas Blinks (English, 1860-1912). A photogravure of Queen Alexandra (1844 – 1925), Danish born wife of King Edward VII of England feeding her dogs a Borzoi, Scottish Deerhound, Four Collies, Schipperke and two Bassett hounds & pup, sugar lumps from a basket on her arm, besides the Royal kennels at Sandringham House. She is accompanied by Princess Mary Windsor (later The Princess Royal) 1897 -1965 beside her at right, Princes Albert George (later King George VI) 1895 -1952 and David Edward (later King Edward VIII) 1894 -1972 at her left, the keeper standing in the trees behind them at right, beyond at left a further man opens a gate to let another Collie join the group. Magnificent pair of enamel and soft paste Sèvres/Sevres porcelain hunting vases A magnificent pair of early 19th century, Sèvres, enamel and soft paste porcelain hunting vases. The bases with seated Borzoi and Foxhounds in soft paste porcelain, the bodies polychromed with horseback and dog hunting scenes in tree adorned landscape. Stag and boar heads in soft paste porcelain applied to distinctive 'bleu celeste' border. Marked to the base with the Sèvres 'intertwined' double 'L', inset with an ‘M’, and the painter’s mark ‘277’. French, circa 1830.
