19th century, French bronze doré hunting / ‘chasse’ boar French horn wall sconces ‘appliques’ A pair of late 19th century bronze and bronze doré hunting / ‘chasse’ triple wall sconces ‘appliques’, the backplate in the form of a boar from head to hoof, with tassel drops. The central sconce arm in the form of a French hunting horn, with the outer sconce arms applied with oak leaf and acorn design. Marked to the reverse “MATIE?â€. French, 1895.
The 18th century master founder Jean Joseph de Saint-German (French, 1719-1791) cast a similar oak leaf and acorn design, circa 1750, but with boar and deer.

Victorian reverse intaglio carriage / coaching / four-in-hand diamond and gold laurel leaf set crystal brooch A stunning reverse intaglio coaching crystal brooch of a four-in-hand carriage / coaching on the road, followed by a rider. Mother of pearl backed and unusually set in a frame of berried laurel leaves, the symbol of victory, worked in 14 carat gold. The crystal possibly Belgium, circa 1900, the gold setting America, possibly a little later, marked “14KPâ€, 14 karat plumb gold, meaning exactly 14K, no more, no less. Belgium / American, circa 1900. The reverse also bears jewellers mark. Reverse intaglio crystals are commonly and erroneously often called Essex Crystals.

A 1950’s Cocker Spaniel bronze from the foundry of Claude Valsuani (1908-1981) A 1950’s head study of a Cocker Spaniel bronze from the foundry of Claude Valsuani. It bears the Valsuani Foundary "Cire Valsuani Perdue" seal. The “Claude Valsuani†seal was synonymous with castings of excellent quality and remarkable patinas. It is further inscribed “FL 59â€, presumed the sculptors initials and the date of the sculpture. We have not been able to determine the artist. All our art books are in London and we are isolating in the Devon countryside.

A 19th century Versailles / Medici shaped Vase Sarreguemines Majolica boar head vase A 19th century Versailles / Medici shaped Vase Sarreguemines Majolica boar head vase. The heads surround by oak leaves and acorns, the vase similarly decorated with oak leaves and acorns and the interior of the vase is of sky blue colour typical of the production of the Sarreguemines factory at this time.
It bears the Sarreguemines Majolica mark and “909†hollow under cover. In “Guide de l'amateur des faïences de Sarreguemines†by Emile Decker and Christian Thevenin, number 909 is the ‘Versailles Vase’
